Eight years ago, in the first semester of my college, we were given the project to document an allocated place through filed study. My group mates Sakshi, Avani and Anuj and I were sent to Sadra, a beautiful village near Gandhinagar.
Geography
Situated on the bank of river Sabarmati, Sadra is full of scenic beauty, natural wonders and historic treasures. Despite being a quite village, away from city life, it is rich in infrastructure as well.
Sadra is 16-17 Kms away from the capital of Gujarat, Gandhinagar and 30 Kms from our college in Gandhinagar.

History
The locals have tonnes of stories to relate when asked about this little village. The most famous quote which is heard from the old natives of the village about Ahmedabad is " Jab kutte par sassa aaya, tab badshah ne shahar basaya." Colloquially it is said that the Emperor Ahmed Shah was highly impressed by the bravery of a rabbit who attacked a dog and he decided to build the city of Ahmedabad.
Sadra was further chosen to built the fort as it was a little on the outskirt of the city and the land being very fertile yielded various grains, pulses and vegetable to sustain the army.
